The first graduating class of Armstrong Junior College organized the Armstrong Alumni Association in 1937. Since its founding, the Office of Alumni Relations has compiled a mailing list of more than 21,000 graduates and interested former students. The alumni association's participation and support are an integral part of the university's advancement efforts.

Membership in the Armstrong Alumni Association is open to all graduates and former students of Armstrong Junior College, Armstrong State College, and Armstrong Atlantic State University. Alumni and friends receive The Compass twice annually to keep them informed of the university and alumni events. They also receive mailings notifying them of special programs and activities.

To strengthen the ties among Armstrong Atlantic supporters, the association promotes networking among alumni, faculty and staff, the community, and other friends of the university. The alumni association promotes the activities and objectives of the university and provides opportunities to further the growth of the university.

Events sponsored by the alumni association include: Homecoming, annual meetings, class reunions, receptions,symposia, and alumni events held in conjunction with campus activities.
